Introduction
Power, power is what moves the universe. There is
someone always looking to get bigger and to get richer and many won’t stop
until it is too late. Power is defined as a person, group, or nation having great influence or control over
others. This means that there must always be someone who is lower in power.
Naturally there will be some sort of tension between the person in power and
the person who is under the gun. When and where there is tension something or
someone will have to break in order for there to be a winner in the power
struggle. There must be conflict in order for there to be a resolution.
Body
In creation of an Emperor there must be some sort
of heir to the throne which would create a royal family and in return would
bring up a middle class, a lower class, and a serf class. Yes there is indeed a
class system in the universe of Dune but this system is very complicated due to
the amount of people and groups in Dune that are power hungry and seek some way
to find more power or to meddle in other characters’ lives. In this universe
there are class systems upon class systems. Entire class systems are in
constant movement in the power chain because of its sheer complexity.
The rise of the Atreides family to the throat of
power defiantly shows how the power in a class system can shift dramatically.
With the help of great knowledge of how the universe works, helpful Fremen allies
and mystical miracle drugs, the Atreides family was able to change the fabric
of the Dune universe forever. But would the Atreides family be in total control
forever? Would the Manipulator of the universe ever step down from his ultimate
throne of power? Or will someone have to find a way to take down an even
stronger nearly impossible force to handle. In a system where power is in
constant motion and nothing is sure to stay the same anything could happen.

KING KAT
Long
live the new king, king cat that is. This week’s Abominable Charles Christopher
update is a very funny one. The web strip consists of nine panels with a lot of
dialog and two different cats. The new king wakes from is slumber awaken by a
morning food call. One cat brings Gilgamesh’s cat a nice big fresh fish when Gilgamesh’s
cat tell his friend that he has been sleeping in his masters bed for some time.
So obviously this means that Gilgamesh’s cat is the new king since Gilgamesh has
been m.i.a for a long time. Yeah right what are these two cants thinking how the
kings pet be the new can king ha-ha imagine a whole city ruled by a cat. I
wonder what these two wacky cats will do with their new found power brought to
them by laziness. Will the lazy cat be a good king or a bad king maybe after
his afternoon cat naps he will do something useful. I can’t wait to see what
these crazy cats are going to do next hopefully next weekend’s update has to do
with these cats because the trend of the updates has been at random. Maybe the
updates will eventually come together to push the story forwards because at
this point the story is moving at a very slow and steady pace. Next week there
might be something shocking or a continuation of random events. Well until next

Now all i need is a nice cold drink and a fun girl next to meh :)
And yet another Abominable snowman
yet
Silent and still yet
sad and hurt, this is the feeling that I get out of the main character of this
web comics update of The Abominable Charles Christopher. The web comic is made
up of seven panels where the owl that is the main character of this strip is in
only two different positions and only says one sentence. “Please don’t go” is
what he says without moving an inch. The mouse who is talking to the owl about
his recent loss of his child because his child left with his uncle somewhere and
had not seen him for some time. The mouse tells his story about his nine children
leaving and how he had to just let them go and he understood how the owl felt. This
was very touching at the beginning of the strip I felt that the owl was just
being rude because it looked like he was just ignoring and not even giving any
attention what so ever to the mouse. But in reality maybe he was trying to keep
his emotions in because he is such a prideful creature. I liked this week’s
update because it was fairly long and looked very beautifully well drawn. And well
proportioned. Will the mouse stay with the old owl? Will his son ever return or
will he have to go out and venture to find him and bring him back? We will find
out soon in the updates to come.

Epic win?
Well yesterday I went to my local Berger king. My
quest was not to enjoy a delicious whopper but to enjoy a Berger my way. The motto
of the so called Berger king is “has it your way” and I was going to test that
out. I went into the Berger king and waited in line for five or so minutes. The
person who took my order was a teenager from maybe the local high school it
seemed. As he stood there awaiting my answer after he asked can I take your order I thought what if I asked
for a whopper that looked like a big mac, you know with the third bread. He said
“wait what” I told him it says “have it your way”; he quickly replied you can’t
have it that way. I laughed and ordered a dollar chicken sandwich and a dollar
cheese Berger and made myself a “Mc Gang Bang” I was pleased and left the local
Berger king with a full stomach and a smile on my face. In the process of my failure
I had made myself smile and I call this a great failure.
Its Rabbit Season!
In this week’s update on the ever expanding Charles Christopher
adventure it is the first day of spring and we are all told so many times. This
week’s comic strip is composed of three different panels. The first panel you
can see two raccoons chilling leaning on a tree when they hear a loud singing. The
words that where sung are “First day of spring”. Just like a song sung over and
over these words would sink into your mind and cause you to sing it as well. The
person singing these words was a rabbit who seemed happier than a button. This made
me chuckle looking at the rabbit singing and skipping paying no attention to another
animal in the forest. The raccoons watch the silly rabbit as he sing and skip when.
One of the raccoons then repeats the phrase “first day of spring”. With an open mouth the chubby raccoon looks
shocked to hear the news. I think that it might be mating season because the raccoons
seem very nervous but the rabbit seems very happy and ready. Rabbits do mate a
lot so maybe this is why the rabbit is so happy for it to be the first day of
spring. Hopefully the raccoons will find a mate because I know that the rabbit
will. Well I will just have to see what happens next week what happens in the
spring season. Stay thirsty my friends.

Chuck It
This week’s update on
the Charles Christopher web comic series is very funny and refreshing. The classic
wood chuck joke. How much wood could a wood chuck, chuck exactly. Apparently not
even the wood chuck knows. This joke reminds me of when I was a young child my
dad would joke around and tell us ridiculous things. I remember trying to say
the phrase fast enough to there the words would sound funny. In the web comic
the two mice come up to the unsuspecting wood chuck and ask him a simple
question how much would could you chuck and when the wood chuck answers they
start to chuckle. The wood chuck didn’t even know that there was such a joke
about him species. He presumed that the mice wanted to start a fight or some
sort of confrontation. This made me laugh because I know that everyone liked to
go around and mess with other people especially with an inside joke. I know that I have had my share of these
moments and I know I will have more just because I’m such joker. Well I hope
that in the next update the story is pushed forwards because it has been
stagnant for a while. Don’t get me wrong I liked this week’s update but I hope
that next time there will be some sort of push. Well until next time friends/

Breakfast call
In this week’s update of The Amenable Charles Christopher it
starts off where it left off in last weeks. With a big circle of light called
an eye ball. We see a young Gilgamesh waking up suddenly and he then begins to
stare out into the distance. He sees the same mountain where a man found his
final resting place or so it seems. Not over thinking it he quickly wakes
Charles and asks him took cook him something to eat for breakfast. I think that
Gilgamesh might have dreamed the death of this father. There is a resemblance
in the eyes of the person in that last update and Gilgamesh’s eyes. Maybe the
reason he brushes off this feeling to quickly be because he is still very young
and full of pep. All he sees is the present and all he feels is the want of adventure
at the moment. Maybe he will grow up to become a great warrior after his journey
with Charles. I think that Charles will learn to become a great role model
because he has already helped so many others in the forest. Gilgamesh is in
need of a father figure and at the moment he trust Charles because he is fascinated
by him. I wonder what happened to Gilgamesh’s father, does Gilgamesh remember
his father? Is his father truly gone? Will Gilgamesh ever get his breakfast
from Charles? Well none of my questions will be answered this week, well till
next time my friends

Excuses Excuesses
So this week I was asked by Sean to post
an excuse on why I was not to par with my blogging. I do not feel like I have
any excuse because an excuse usually is a lie or a stretch of words. But if I
was to create an alternate reality I would have to say I was busy unwinding
from my midterms and my work that I have been bombarded with. I will just have
to try harder to keep to par. well till next time my friends.
Into Darkness
In this week’s update on the ever expanding adventures
of Charles Christopher we find ourselves watching the unfolding of someone’s
life. The creature seems as if he is well aware of his death and seems as if he
is alright with his demise. He thinks about his life and how he is sorry for
his son and his wife. This made me think about many things that this could
mean. Why? Is he in this cave what had happened to him? Why is he sorry about
his family what had happened to them? Soon we will find out what exactly
happened to this poor creature and his family. But for now I would like to
marvel at the placing of the circle of light in each of the panels in this web
comic. The circle draws the eye to it and it creates a flow of some sort that
is very pleasing to the eye. It begins a white and ends a black that bring a
feeling of darkness and loneliness’. Along with the words and the flow of the energy
in this web strip, you can stop yourself from s=feeling some sort of emotion
towards this, I on one hand felt a little sad because it made me feel like I will
one day die and I do not want to die in vain or with something left undone.
This web strip has been a very nice read and I hope to find out what happens to
this creature.

Stop Looking at me swan!
On this week’s update on the Abominable Charles Christopher web comic there is a very angry goose causing havoc. The comic strip is names “swans are still such jerks” it is another with the same swan from a previous web strip. This strip is composed of one big panel that a lot of information going on in the panel. It shows a swan chasing away a group of ducking that where in the lake minding their own busyness. The words in the background show the ferocity of the swans squawking and flapping of its wings. The ducklings look very terrified and they are fleeing for their lives ha-ha. This panel is a very funny I enjoyed this panel because I know that ducking mind their own busyness and swans are usually nice creatures that also mind their own busyness. The comic note says “I guess this swan isn’t out of my system yet” so I feel that he might later on have another update where the swan will be shown actin again like a “jerk” or maybe he will be shown doing something that is unexpected. I just hope that he adds a comic that will propel the story forward again. One more thing I want to say is that the panel was very well drawn and I enjoyed all the details that Karl Kerschl drawn in this picture was extraordinary. I bet he spent a lot of time on this picture. Well I will have to wait till next Wednesday until I update about this again.

Dune
Dune
After reading the first
two books in the Dune series I have gained a good knowledge about the book and
how it seduces the reader into a well plotted out epic of a science fiction
book. What really made this book a good book that I enjoyed, was all the great
amount of details and undertones that created the Dune universe. This book has
well plotted dialog between all the characters, the dialog is very complex but
Frank Herbert does an awesome job in helping the reader understand by adding a
small sentence to help clear up any confusion. Through the book series many of
the characters are killed and many others are brought back from the dead. The
series is full of twists that I really enjoyed, the protagonist and the antagonist
often interact in dialogs that contain such depth because they are enemy’s yet
have to follow sustain rules that their religions and cultures that must be
followed. While reading dune you are emerged into a new world full of
creatures, planets, drugs, and characters that are a brand new idea. You learn
the religions of those who live in the world of dune and you also learn a whole
different dictionary of almost endless words and names that you might have
never thought about.
In the original Dune
there is a lot of action and a lot of characters that are introduces in every section
of the book because the world of Dune is so vast. It is a bit confusing for the
first sections of the story but quickly everything becomes clear. The second
book is very different when compared with the original. In the second book
there is much more talking and conspiracy, there is a lot of changing sides and
a lot of constant arguing where it feel
there is going to be some fighting but all of the tension is well kept under
wraps until the end of the book where everyone and everything changes dramatically.
I did enjoy this book
it was unlike a lot of other books I have read. I had to actually take some
time to sit down and read this epic book. This book really did keep me stuck to
it, I had found myself reading hundreds of pages in one sitting and enjoining
it. I feel that more books should write in the same way this book was written.
There should be more books with the amount of great detail and the amount of
time that I know Frank Herbert sent on the Dune series. If I was to give a
number to my rating of this book it would have to be a 8 out of 10 but the only
reason it is an eight out of ten is because of its sheer complexity that I have
only just started to be introduced to. Over all it was a really good book and I
would suggest others who love books with a lot of imagination.

Shut up haha
Chirp chirp
ha-ha these love bird are over here singing away trying to find someone to mate
with it seems. The robin we have seen in many other Abominable Charles Christopher
web comic stripes makes another appearance in this one. He is trying to win
over some hearts from the birds around the land in which in the presence disturbs
the sleep of a bat. To a bat this would be so annoying due to their very keen sense
of sound. In the last panel you can see the bat listening to these lovely bird
songs but to him it sounds like a car crash. His speech bobble says
"@$%#!" which would imply that he is saying a "bad" world
most likely the F word. This is not either of their faults; the bat is a nocturnal
animal and sleeps in the day. Birds are morning animals and wake up early,
around the time when bats start to go to sleep these animals begin to awaken
for a brand new day. Like they always say the early bird catches the worm and
these birds are no exception they will sing like there is no tomorrow regarding
any other animals or persons sleep. This week’s update on the abominable Charles
Christopher was a very funny one it had a lot of different things that were
being shown in these four small panels. I bet there will be more to come next
week and I will yet again write about it =)

Money money money and budget cuts
There has
been talk going on about school cuts at CSUN this year and it has come to my
attention that I should learn a little more about it since I do attend Cal
State Northridge after all. So I have been doing some research and it has come
to my mind that we spend a lot of money to pay for our college classes /books
and it’s getting harder to pay. This year Cal State Northridge has enrolled
3,000 more students that should have been allowed to enroll in Cal State
Northridge. Because of this the state wants Cal State Northridge to either cut
2,800 students or to be cut back $ 7million dollars of funding sounds like a
really bad situation to me. I find this very unfair to the students because we
have all paid our money to go to school and learn something useful yet we
cannot get into classes that we have already paid for. Some students have been
cut down from being a fulltime student to a part time student not because of
full classes and too little teachers to run the class. If there aren’t enough
classes and if there aren’t enough teachers then who will teach the students?
Where will the money we spent go? Where will the time and hair pulled out
induced by stress go? Something must be done quickly so we don’t become bold
and so that other students do not have to go through the same problems that we
are currently in.
I have read
a bit on this subject and there where actually live interviews of student on
campus and their reactions about this budget cut that is affecting them severally.
One of the students said that he only come to school for 1 class a week and he
is a junior at Cal State Northridge, he said that he thinks that his semester
at Cal State Northridge is a waste of time because he only has one class. A
normal fulltime student takes thirteen credits a semester, one class would not
be able to fulfill the requirements that students need to graduate on time. Another
student said she only goes to school for nine credits because there aren’t enough
class rooms and that it is really expensive to go college now in time. Some teachers
have even tried to overfill their classes and try to teach students who are
lucked out of classes they really need but those same students might be
eliminated from those class rooms. What will happen to the students that are
being cut because of this, what will they do how will the state and how will
the school live knowing that this is happening? Soon enough we will all know
what is to come. I am a freshmen in CSUN, and it sounds pretty scary considering I am at
the low end of the totem pole and might be one of the first to be cut so I hope
my dreams don’t get chopped down after the money war is over between the state
and the school that I call mine.

Mister Abominable CC
I
read the whole web comic of The Abominable Charles Christopher today . I think it is very unique in the way that the
main character has not yet said anything in the series however the story is
ever pushed on by his relentless urge to keep pressing forward into the forest
and out of the forest. Charles who is some sort of humanoid creature and it seems
as if he is one of a kind. Charles has grown very much since the beginning where
we first meet him as a scared creature with a pacifier in his mouth who is
constantly running from anything that he thinks is dangerous. He has now learned
about death and has felt love for several animals he has come into contact
with. Charles may seem like a nitwit but I feel that he has something he has to
do and I feel that he will soon learn what his objective is. There are multiple
stories going on at the same time with different characters that sometimes come
together and I can’t wait to see what happens next, the pot is boiling and
almost ready to overflow and I will be sure to visit the web comic next Wednesday. I
hope that his powers become more developed in the next comic strip because his
healing power has already caught my attention well now I’m going to cross my
fingers and hope something crazy happens. Well so long for now have a happy Friday
;D.
