Excuses Excuesses
So this week I was asked by Sean to post
an excuse on why I was not to par with my blogging. I do not feel like I have
any excuse because an excuse usually is a lie or a stretch of words. But if I
was to create an alternate reality I would have to say I was busy unwinding
from my midterms and my work that I have been bombarded with. I will just have
to try harder to keep to par. well till next time my friends.
Into Darkness
In this week’s update on the ever expanding adventures
of Charles Christopher we find ourselves watching the unfolding of someone’s
life. The creature seems as if he is well aware of his death and seems as if he
is alright with his demise. He thinks about his life and how he is sorry for
his son and his wife. This made me think about many things that this could
mean. Why? Is he in this cave what had happened to him? Why is he sorry about
his family what had happened to them? Soon we will find out what exactly
happened to this poor creature and his family. But for now I would like to
marvel at the placing of the circle of light in each of the panels in this web
comic. The circle draws the eye to it and it creates a flow of some sort that
is very pleasing to the eye. It begins a white and ends a black that bring a
feeling of darkness and loneliness’. Along with the words and the flow of the energy
in this web strip, you can stop yourself from s=feeling some sort of emotion
towards this, I on one hand felt a little sad because it made me feel like I will
one day die and I do not want to die in vain or with something left undone.
This web strip has been a very nice read and I hope to find out what happens to
this creature.

Stop Looking at me swan!
On this week’s update on the Abominable Charles Christopher web comic there is a very angry goose causing havoc. The comic strip is names “swans are still such jerks” it is another with the same swan from a previous web strip. This strip is composed of one big panel that a lot of information going on in the panel. It shows a swan chasing away a group of ducking that where in the lake minding their own busyness. The words in the background show the ferocity of the swans squawking and flapping of its wings. The ducklings look very terrified and they are fleeing for their lives ha-ha. This panel is a very funny I enjoyed this panel because I know that ducking mind their own busyness and swans are usually nice creatures that also mind their own busyness. The comic note says “I guess this swan isn’t out of my system yet” so I feel that he might later on have another update where the swan will be shown actin again like a “jerk” or maybe he will be shown doing something that is unexpected. I just hope that he adds a comic that will propel the story forward again. One more thing I want to say is that the panel was very well drawn and I enjoyed all the details that Karl Kerschl drawn in this picture was extraordinary. I bet he spent a lot of time on this picture. Well I will have to wait till next Wednesday until I update about this again.

Dune
Dune
After reading the first
two books in the Dune series I have gained a good knowledge about the book and
how it seduces the reader into a well plotted out epic of a science fiction
book. What really made this book a good book that I enjoyed, was all the great
amount of details and undertones that created the Dune universe. This book has
well plotted dialog between all the characters, the dialog is very complex but
Frank Herbert does an awesome job in helping the reader understand by adding a
small sentence to help clear up any confusion. Through the book series many of
the characters are killed and many others are brought back from the dead. The
series is full of twists that I really enjoyed, the protagonist and the antagonist
often interact in dialogs that contain such depth because they are enemy’s yet
have to follow sustain rules that their religions and cultures that must be
followed. While reading dune you are emerged into a new world full of
creatures, planets, drugs, and characters that are a brand new idea. You learn
the religions of those who live in the world of dune and you also learn a whole
different dictionary of almost endless words and names that you might have
never thought about.
In the original Dune
there is a lot of action and a lot of characters that are introduces in every section
of the book because the world of Dune is so vast. It is a bit confusing for the
first sections of the story but quickly everything becomes clear. The second
book is very different when compared with the original. In the second book
there is much more talking and conspiracy, there is a lot of changing sides and
a lot of constant arguing where it feel
there is going to be some fighting but all of the tension is well kept under
wraps until the end of the book where everyone and everything changes dramatically.
I did enjoy this book
it was unlike a lot of other books I have read. I had to actually take some
time to sit down and read this epic book. This book really did keep me stuck to
it, I had found myself reading hundreds of pages in one sitting and enjoining
it. I feel that more books should write in the same way this book was written.
There should be more books with the amount of great detail and the amount of
time that I know Frank Herbert sent on the Dune series. If I was to give a
number to my rating of this book it would have to be a 8 out of 10 but the only
reason it is an eight out of ten is because of its sheer complexity that I have
only just started to be introduced to. Over all it was a really good book and I
would suggest others who love books with a lot of imagination.

Shut up haha
Chirp chirp
ha-ha these love bird are over here singing away trying to find someone to mate
with it seems. The robin we have seen in many other Abominable Charles Christopher
web comic stripes makes another appearance in this one. He is trying to win
over some hearts from the birds around the land in which in the presence disturbs
the sleep of a bat. To a bat this would be so annoying due to their very keen sense
of sound. In the last panel you can see the bat listening to these lovely bird
songs but to him it sounds like a car crash. His speech bobble says
"@$%#!" which would imply that he is saying a "bad" world
most likely the F word. This is not either of their faults; the bat is a nocturnal
animal and sleeps in the day. Birds are morning animals and wake up early,
around the time when bats start to go to sleep these animals begin to awaken
for a brand new day. Like they always say the early bird catches the worm and
these birds are no exception they will sing like there is no tomorrow regarding
any other animals or persons sleep. This week’s update on the abominable Charles
Christopher was a very funny one it had a lot of different things that were
being shown in these four small panels. I bet there will be more to come next
week and I will yet again write about it =)
